Know the Facts First

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health launched the “Know the Facts First” campaign, an initiative co-branded by the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) and the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD).  “Know the Facts First” aims to provide teen girls, ages 13-19, with accurate information about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and prevention methods so that they can make informed decisions about sexual activity.

The campaign website, KnowTheFactsFirst.gov, is a hub for STI information, resources, tools, and support for teens, as well as information on where to get tested and is accessible from a smartphone, tablet and desktop.  The “Know the Facts First” campaign will also include print and video public service announcements in malls, magazines, schools, movie theaters, on television and online.
