The public is overwhelmingly in favor of programs that support young people…
85% of adults—including 89% of Democrats and 75% of Republicans—favor maintaining federal funding for the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. 75% of adults are in support of continuing the Title X Program. Support for these programs is wide, deep, and bipartisan.
Yet, funding for these vital programs is in grave danger…
- We need you to take immediate action to communicate the ongoing value of the TPP Program and Title X to our representatives and our communities.
- Remind them that teen birth rates are at an all-time low because more youth have the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions.
- Let them know that many effective programs have already been cut, even before a budget has been approved, leaving youth and communities without on-going access to critical education and prevention services.
Make some noise!
Check with your organizational leadership on your ability to advocate. Regardless, you can still educate members of Congress.
Now is the time to call or email your Representative, especially if they are on the LHHS Appropriations Subcommittee. Thursday, July 13, at 4:30 pm Eastern, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS), the committee with jurisdiction over the TPP Program and Title X, will meet to mark up (consider) the FY 2018 LHHS spending bill.
