Healthy Teen Network Receives Grant to Increase Capacity in Public Policy Advocacy

Date: February 23rd, 2017

Healthy Teen Network is pleased to announce that it has received a generous grant from Merck to enable us to increase the capacity of adolescent health organizations to educate public policymakers at all levels of government on the imperative of sustaining and increasing public investment in positive sexual health education and services for adolescents and young adults. “Merck’s support could not be more relevant given the shifting landscape of public policy decision makers and the threats to public health investments that our nation’s youth are facing,” said Patricia Paluzzi, DrPH, CNM, Healthy Teen Network President and CEO.

With Merck’s grant, Healthy Teen Network will research, test, develop, and disseminate public policy messages on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, suitable for policymakers with diverse constituencies, for use by our membership, including our Healthy Teen Leadership Alliance of state adolescent health organizations. Messages will be developed in subject areas such as sexuality education, youth access to sexual health services, and youth protection from preventable infections and diseases.

Healthy Teen Network anticipates availability of materials and trainings beginning summer 2017.
