Training-of-Facilitators Available Online & In-Person

When you purchase a copy of the Power Through Choices curriculum, you also receive a “seat” in a virtual Training-of-Facilitators, which must be redeemed within one year of the curriculum purchase.

We’ll train your facilitators to implement the evidence-based program, Power Through Choices, with young people. Training-of-Facilitator participants get the background and practice they need to be ready to implement the program with quality and fidelity. Ongoing technical assistance to make adaptations and support implementation is also available

We offer an open Training-of-Facilitators at least once a year. Check out our event calendar to see the next available training.

Alternatively, we may also be available to train your staff, on-site or virtually. If you have at least 12 educators ready to implement Power Through Choices, and you need the training scheduled for your timing, this may be the option for you.

Technical Assistance

Looking for support but not quite a formal training? We offer proactive and reactive technical assistance (TA) and coaching.

TA may be structured as informal individual or group sessions, taking place in person (via site visits), on the phone, or online, over a set period of time. TA helps to build skills as well as increase knowledge and change attitudes.

TA might look like coaching on facilitation techniques, advice on adaptation requests, or managing implementation challenges.

Please note that there are fees for technical assistance.

Training-of-Trainers

Do you have a team of trainers experienced in building the capacity of adult professionals?

A Training-of-Trainers, or a TOT, prepares experienced trainers to conduct a Training-of-Facilitators (TOF) on Power Through Choices, so your educators are ready to implement the curriculum with youth.

TOTs are a great way to support long-term sustainability because your trainers will be ready to train your team of health educators.

Want to know more? We’re ready to schedule this training for you.

Evidence-Based Program

Power Through Choices is a proven effective program and is widely recognized as an evidence-based program:

As part of the program’s randomized control trial, young people receiving the Power Through Choices curriculum reported statistically significant impacts in numerous areas on a 12-month post-program survey.

Participants…

  • Reported lower rates of sexual activity,
  • Were less likely to be involved in a pregnancy, and
  • Were less likely to report having sex without birth control.

Learn more about our evaluation findings in our curriculum reports and journal articles.
