Who We Are

From our start in 1979, we focused on an often-overlooked group of young people: those who were pregnant and parenting. Back then, we were known as the National Organization on Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting, or NOAPP. Over time, we added a third “P” to our name to bring in prevention, while never losing sight of supports and services for young people who are pregnant or parenting.

Inclusive and affirming is just who we are. For all young people.

We have continued to evolve from there. Because sexual and reproductive health is not just about risk reduction or preventing pregnancy or disease—it’s also about healthy relationships, sex positivity, gender and sexuality, and so much more. It’s about equipping young people with the information and services they need to thrive. To live their authentic sexualities. And so, we became more holistic.

We are Healthy Teen Network.

Wpromote better outcomes for adolescents and young adults by advancing social change, cultivating innovation, and strengthening youthsupporting professionals and organizations.

THE “Must-Attend” Conference

Photo of a sign, "This must be the place."

We are the go-to resource for connecting youth-supporting professionals with the opportunities, training, and tools they need to empower the next generation to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Our vast membership network of more than 5,300 affiliates is made up of diverse adolescent sexual and reproductive health professionals.

For over 40 years, our conference has been the only comprehensive annual national event to convene adolescent sexual and reproductive health professionals. Hundreds of conference attendees attend our apex capacity-building event each year. They come to strengthen their skills to implement evidence-based and innovative approaches and network with national colleagues to share lessons learned.

Our attendees are teachers and educators, counselors and clinicians, the caring adults. And every day, they are working hard to provide honest, affirming care and education. In these roles, they are in unique positions to recommend products and services to tens of thousands of youth across the country, as well as to the agencies they represent.

We know that professionals who receive quality support and training are better able to do their jobs. And when they are better prepared, we see more positive outcomes for the youth they serve. As a conference sponsor or advertiser, you can join us in doing this important work.
